Eastern Insurance Holdings, Inc. (EIHI) donates our time and resources to enrich the communities in which we live, work and serve. EIHI provides substantial financial support and our employees generously donate their time and talents to several community organizations, just a few of which are highlighted below:
EIHI has been a sponsor of the Big 33 since 1999. Big 33's mission is to produce the premier high school all-star football game in the United States that is much more than a game that showcases and develops excellence in students and the community, and raises funds for academic scholarships and other charitable activities.
EIHI proudly supports Bowl For Kids' Sake, the primary fundraiser for the Lancaster branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Big Brothers Big Sisters serves children by offering opportunities for professionally supported One-to-One® mentoring relationships with qualified volunteers.
EIHI is proud to sponsor the "Fresh Outlooks, Better Outcomes" scholarship through Kids' Chance of Pennsylvania, Inc. Kids' Chance of PA provides financial support for post-secondary education through grants to children of Pennsylvania workers who have been killed or seriously injured as a result of a work-related accident, and where that accident has resulted in financial need.
EIHI is proud to serve as a Gold Sponsor for the annual Labor Day Auction benefiting Hospice of Lancaster County. Hospice of Lancaster County is dedicated to providing care and comfort to help patients and families live better at the end of life.
EIHI proudly takes part in the annual United Way Campaign and their Day of Caring. Through the United Way's Day of Caring, EIHI employees volunteer their time to benefit various organizations around Lancaster County. EIHI has frequently been recognized for its high level of contributions and outstanding campaign efforts.
EIHI proudly supports Junior Achievement of Central PA. Junior Achievement's mission is to ensure that every child in Central PA has a fundamental understanding of the ethics, values and opportunities of the free enterprise system. Their Young Women's Futures Symposium is an annual program of mentoring, motivation, and opportunity for female high school sophomores and juniors.
In addition to these worthy causes, EIHI also supports the following community organizations and charitable events: Hoops for Hunger 3 on 3 Tournament, The Pennsylvania Ballet, Gretna Theatre, Governor's Occupational Safety and Health Conference, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Love Affair, American Heart Association's Heart Ball, Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, and United Cerebral Palsy's Magic Night. EIHI also proudly supports several community youth sport leagues.
For the past eight years, a member of the EIHI family has been selected to the MS Leadership Class program, which honors executives for their outstanding contributions to the civic, business and cultural betterment of the Central Pennsylvania area. The members of the Leadership Class conduct a fund-raising campaign benefiting the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the National MS Society and receive the esteemed MS Leadership Award.
