About EIHI

Community Involvement

Eastern Insurance Holdings, Inc. (EIHI) donates our time and resources to enrich the communities in which we live, work and serve. EIHI provides substantial financial support and our employees generously donate their time and talents to many community organizations and charitable events.

Corporately, EIHI supports several Kids’ Chance programs. The national Kids’ Chance, Inc. organization helps to create, assist and support the many statewide Kids’ Chance organizations and similar programs that provide educational opportunities and scholarships for the children of workers seriously injured or killed on the job.

In addition to sponsoring various Kids’ Chance fundraisers, such as the Kids’ Chance of PA 5/10K Fun Walk/Run, EIHI underwrites a $5,000 annual "Fresh Outlooks, Better Outcomes" scholarship to support a student pursuing a degree in insurance, safety, finance or actuarial science. EIHI has been a sponsor of the Big 33 since 1999. Big 33's mission is to produce the premier high school all-star football game in the United States that is much more than a game showcasing and developing excellence in students and the community—it also raises funds for academic scholarships and other charitable activities. EIHI is the official presenter for the Big 33 Host Family awards.

EIHI has a strong track record of support for the United Way, and has been recognized for its high level of contributions and creative campaigns for local United Way organizations’ Annual Campaigns and Day of Caring events. The United Way partners with organizations such as EIHI to advance the common good and mobilize the caring power of communities in which we live and work. The United Way focuses its efforts on education, financial stability, and health.

In addition, EIHI provides a Matching Gifts Program to further its employees’ charitable giving. Our service offices field company-sponsored teams for various fundraisers, host jeans days to benefit charitable causes and campaigns, and contribute money to a wide variety of local organizations and events.
